Dr. Susmita Roy Choudhury Deka is an Assistant Professor in Psychology. She completed her post-graduation with first class second position in Psychology and earned her doctorate from Gauhati University in 2020 for her thesis titled ‘Psychological Well- Being, Emotional and Cultural Intelligence as Predictors of Academic Achievement Among Tribal Adolescents’. She has 8 years of teaching experience and has been a full-time member of InSPA. (Indian School Psychology Association). She has supervised the dissertations of three postgraduate students under IGNOU. She has presented six (6) papers and four research publications to her credit both at national and international level. She has been invited as a resource person for a talk on ‘Planning for Educational Institutions Re-opening and Recovery after Covid-19’ at an International Workshop organized by Professional Institute of Business, Bangladesh. She has counselled 395 students across various schools in Guwahati as a Counselling Psychologist under Project Child from 2014 to 2016. In addition to her academic achievements, she has completed Bisharad (Graduation) on Classical Music. Her areas of interest in teaching comprise of Foundation of Psychology, Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Indian Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Her research interest includes Positive Psychology.
