Pragjyotishpur University strengthens community ties with livestock initiative

Pragjyotishpur University in collaboration with the National Research Centre on Pig (NRC), Rani, and Vidya Bharati Shiksha Sanskriti Trust, Hajongbari, held a Piggery Food Distribution Programme to promote rural empowerment and sustainable piggery practices. Fresh piggery products and educational materials on hygienic animal husbandry were distributed, with NRC experts highlighting pig farmingтАЩs nutritional and economic benefits for underprivileged rural households. Distinguished guests included Shri Avnish Bhatnagar (Vice President, Vidya Bharati), Dr. Vivek Kumar Gupta (Director, NRC), and Dr. Pranab Jyoti Das (Principal Scientist, NRC), emphasizing the integration of research, education, and community development. Prof. Dr. Jogesh Kakati, Registrar of Pragjyotishpur University, stressed translating knowledge into action, while Vidya Bharati representatives highlighted the role of education and community service in grassroots transformation. The event concluded with interactive sessions and a communal meal. Shri Sanchi Ram Payeng of Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam, delivered the vote of thanks.
